Anita Nair

Anita Nair is a critically acclaimed Indian-English novelist best known for her works, A Better Man (1999), Ladies Coupe (2001), the Mistress (2005), and ‘Eating Wasps (2018). She has published over 17 books, including novels, books for children, original audiobooks, poetry, short stories and essays. Anita has also written two plays and the screenplay for the movie adaptation of her novel, Lessons in Forgetting (2010), which won the National Award for Best feature film in English in 2012. She has won numerous awards, including The Central Sahithya Academy Award in 2013, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for her contribution to literature and culture in 2012, The Hindu Literary Prize shortlist for Idris Keeper of the Light (2014), the Crossword Book Award, Children's category, for  ‘Muezza and Baby Jaan’ (2017), Women of Substance Award by the Times Group for outstanding contribution in the field of literature, Ficci Flo Women Achievers Award and the Arch of Excellence Award in Literature by the All India Achievers Conference. Her books have been published in over 31 languages around the world. She is also the founder of Anita’s Attic, a creative writing mentorship program.
